Yoga Challenge

I am proud of myself today.


For the first time ever I have completed a 30 days of Yoga challenge. While I have dabbled with yoga in the past, I haven't ever stuck with it.


If I'm honest, I don't particularly enjoy exercise. Like many others, I have had many gym memberships which have lapsed after a few months. The only exercise I have ever really enjoyed has been walking my dog.


Over the last few years, I have become more aware of the importance of exercise for my wellbeing. As a full time executive leader with a high workload and level of responsibility (both at work and at home) at times I really needed to find times to stop. I learnt that going for a walk, whilst exercising my body, enabled my busy mind to rest and refocus. Often after taking a break and doing some exercise, I thought more clearly or had a better solution to a problem that I was puzzling over.


So now as I have finished this challenge, I have joined the 300 days of yoga challenge on Facebook, which I hope will motivate me to continue this good habit. I know that it has been so good for both my body and mind.
