It was National Cat Day recently. Here is a post I published that day.

I am an unapologetic childless cat lady.

Regardless of the connotations of this phrase currently being bandied about by Trump and the republican party, I love being a cat lady. I don’t see my cat ownership as a failure.  Being a cat owner does not define me, but it does add huge amounts of joy into my life.

This is a photo of two of my four cats. In addition to my own four (and long suffering labrador), I also foster kittens for a local cat rescue Hector's House Cat Rescue.

Personally, I find the cats a great benefit to my general wellbeing and stress levels. They make me smile, and there is nothing better than having a purring cat on your lap for improving your wellbeing.

At the moment there is a soaring number of abandoned cats in the UK.  If you have room in your home for a rescue cat or kitten, please contact your local rescue. You could make all the difference.
