I think this comparison between kind leaders and nice leaders is really helpful and thought-provoking. I often write about psychological safety and school culture, and I think this post and infographic sum up my beliefs.
By creating a values led culture, and psychological safety, I am NOT advocating leading without challenge, accountability or high standards - in fact the opposite, I would strive for these in any school.
If you are working in a culture where kindness isn't very evident, consider how you can raise the profile of leading with kindness, by modelling and discussing it.
