Governance day

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the Academies for Character and Excellence Governance day. Over 100 local governors (soon to be called advocates), trustees and members came together to consider the changes to governance that are happening due to the growth of the trust.

It was fabulous to work with former colleagues, including CEO Cheryl WeymanWilliam JaworskiJonathan Coe, Jenny Stewart, Katy Burns, Ben Nelson-Smith, Nicky Postlethwaite. Also my former colleague Sue Lockwood The Director of Education at the Diocese of Exeter.

Whilst I left the trust more than two years ago, I am now the proud chair of governors/advocates at Galmpton Church of England Primary School, so it was lovely to still be involved.

🤔 Are you are governor or trustee in a trust? How is your trust managing changes in process to reflect growth?

Join in the conversation and share your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you.
