"Culture is how employees' hearts and stomachs
feel about Monday morning
on Sunday night."
- Bill Marklein
🤔 How many school and trust leaders are conscious of this simple truth?
While it’s easy to focus on school improvement objectives, strategy and targets, a genuinely thriving culture is built on the everyday experiences and feelings of our teams.
If Sunday nights are filled with dread, no level of strategy will truly engage or energise our staff.
In my experience, the best leaders work to create a culture that makes people feel supported, valued, and empowered. Building such a culture requires emotional intelligence, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making schools (and workplaces) somewhere people look forward to being.
🤔 How do you work to make Mondays something to look forward to?
